Mitsubishi Philippines begins local production of Mirage G4
The local automotive industry is on the uptake once again after Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) announced that they have begun local assembly-line factoring of the Mirage G4. This was made possible under the government's Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) program.
Late last week, MMPC said that their vehicle assembly plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna has started production of the Mirage G4. It is their first model under the CARS program which will be followed shortly by the Mirage Hatchback in May 2017.
MMPC aims to produce 25,000 to 30,000 units per 1 shift in 2017 and plans to expand its production to 100,000 units per year.
The 21.-4 hectare Santa Rosa plant is capable of shelling out 50,000 cars annually and currently employs 1,400 employees.
