Mitsubishi unveils Limited Edition ASX at 2017 Chicago Auto Show
Mitsubishi has debuted Limited Edition ASX at this year's 2017 Chicago Auto Show. Refreshed off the long-running crossover that was first unveiled at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show and also known to other markets as the Outlander Sport, the Limited Edition ASX is getting a subtly yet strikingly tweaked aesthetic package.
The Mitsubishi Limited Edition ASX gets more black exterior components such as new 18-inch allow wheels and side mirror caps. It comes with Nexen tires, an alloy fuel cap, and HID headlights as well.
The interior of the Limited Edition is spruced up with heated, custom black fabric seats adorned with red stitching along with new aluminum pedals. Also updated is the touchscreen infotainment system which now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Yet to be disclosed is engine specs and performance in the Limited Edition, however, two engine options are offered for the US-spec ASX. One is the 2.0 L 4B11 that makes 150 PS and 197 Nm of torque. The more powerful alternative would be the 2.4 L 4B12 rated to produce 170 PS and 226 Nm of torque. These are mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or an INVECS-III CVT. The Philippine market so far only receives the 2.0 L.
“As the brand sales leader, Outlander Sport does an exemplary job of offering consumers unmatched value at an attractive price,” said Don Swearingen, Mitsubishi Motors North America’s Executive Vice President. “We’ve now taken that approach one step further by integrating additional standard equipment and technology into the Limited Edition at a price point that is unprecedented within the broader CUV segment.”
Mitsubishi is planning to sell the Limited ASX by the end of February.
