Isuzu MU-X 1.9 RZ4E LS-A 4x2 M/T

In late 2013, the Isuzu MU-X made its global debut in Thailand; it was launched in the Philippine market in September 2014. This new generation pickup-based mid-size SUV was the successor of the Alterra aka MU-7. The current MU-X was not only more modern and more stylish than the utilitarian model it replaced; it was also a more refined sports utility vehicle. Like its pickup counterpart, it was a joint-development between Isuzu and General Motors. Its general body architecture and chassis are shared between the two companies but the powerplants are unique to each vehicle brand. The Isuzu Mu-X features a modern and tough design. It gets an aggressive front end with a bold grille flanked by angular headlights. Its sides are dominated by bulging wheel arches that give it a muscular look. At the back it has sharp horizontal taillights linked by a chrome bar. Its equally modern interior features a neatly laid-out dashboard with an infotainment system nicely integrated into the center stack. As expected from this class, it can seat up to seven. When it comes to convenience features, the base variant gets one 12V accessory socket, while the rest of the lineup gets three 12V sockets as well as three USB charging ports. It has a total of nineteen storage compartments and twelve cup holders. The Isuzu MU-X was initially offered with a 134hp 2.5-liter turbodiesel, a larger 161hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel joined the lineup in late 2015. Both motors were eventually phased in favor of the more powerful new generation Blue Power powerplants. In late 2017, a more powerful 3.0-liter 4JJ1-TCX "Blue Power" oil-burner was introduced; this mill produces 175hp and 380Nm of torque. 4WD models get Terrain Command Dial. This allows the driver to shift from 2H to 4H mode by simply twisting a knob, even up to speeds as high as 100km/h. For 2018, the 4x2 variants received a brand new small displacement 1.9-liter RZ4E turbodiesel; this unit makes 148hp and 350Nm of torque. 4x2 variants can be had with a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission, while all 4x4 variants come equipped with a six-speed automatic tranny. The MU-X s ladder chassis shares its front portion with the D-Max pickup; its rear is unique to the SUV. Up front it has independent double wishbone front suspension; at the back it has a five-link live axle coil spring rear suspension. Stabilizer bars are standard at the front and rear. All variants above the base 1.9 RZ4E 4x2 LS M/T have four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The range-topping 4x4 variant gets extra underbody protection. On the safety department, all Isuzu MU-X variants come with driver and passenger SRS airbags. All variants above base 1.9 RZ4E 4x2 LS M/T come standard with the anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution. The 3.0-liter variants get additional safety features like Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control. All seven passengers get three-point seatbelts with emergency locking retractors. The front row seatbelts are height adjustable, and come with pre-tensioners and load limiters. Silky Pearl White paint is available for an additional P10,000.
