I-ACT implements new traffic scheme on EDSA
A new traffic scheme was implemented last Monday, September 5, 2016. This was made in response to the ongoing traffic congestion in Metro Manila, especially on EDSA.
The new traffic scheme on EDSA will be as follows:
•Closure of U-Turn Slots Southbound near Trinoma after West Avenue to SM City Northbound;
•Closure/Removal of counterflow at Rockwell Flyover from Rockwell to EDSA; and
•North Road, EDSA - One way only from EDSA.
The newly formed Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) composed of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and force multipliers is in charge of implementing the new traffic scheme.
”We are appealing to all motorists who will be affected by said changes to bear with us as we effect said traffic plan to address the traffic problem of EDSA,” said I-ACT via the advisory.
