Mitsubishi to show EV tech with Outlander PHEV at 2016 PIMS
The 2016 Philippine International Motor Show will see Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) unveil the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on September 14-18.
Similar to most of the automaker's current lineup, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is equipped with Mitsubishi's “Dynamic Shield” design. The middle of the fascia is painted in black. On the other hand, the trim surrounding the middle section is finished in chrome. In addition, it features a specifically-designed bumper extensions for better aerodynamics, along with two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV emphasizes on its electric drive system consisting of two battery packs which power all four wheels in EV mode. It is fitted with a 2.0 liter engine that produces an output of 120 PS. And with the help of the electric drive system, the total output reahes to at least 200 PS. The factory fuel economy rating is at 20.2 kilometers per liter and, with pure electric range mode turned on, the Outlander can achieve up to 60.2 kilometers. Meanwhile, in pure EV mode, it the Outlander has a range of 52 kilometers
Mitsubishi Philippines plans to introduce the plug-in hybrid technologies to the country in the near future. There is no word yet whether MMPC will make the Outlander PHEV available to the Philippine market.
